Watch Cool Hovercars In These ‘Total Recall’ Set Videos

So many set videos have surfaced fromThe Avengers, The Dark Knight RisesandMan of Steelit almost feels like they’re the only three movies currently in production. Obviously, that’s far from the case and another major 2012 event film has just been forced into the set video ring. That movie isLen Wiseman’s remake ofTotal RecallstarringColin Farrell,Kate Beckinsale,Jessica Biel,Bryan CranstonandJohn Cho. Several photos popped online last month ofrobots walking around the setand now videos have surfaced that show a bunch of different hovercars on impressive rigs.

Thanks toScriptflagsfor these videos. They have been online for about a month according to YouTube so you may have seen the before. But if you haven’t, here we go. First is the longest one.

Next is the same shot, but from closer. You can actually see this guy shooting in the above video. Notice the two camera for 3D.

This is a different scene with a new car.

Over at the site, there are other videos of filming but none are as cool as those.

The last time we wrote aboutTotal Recallin depth was when theypremiered footage at Comic Con. In relation to the videos above, Wiseman’s film certainly has much higher-tech props and vehicles than Paul Verhoeven did in his 1987 Mars set version of the story. Here’s one example from Russ' article:

The hovercars and intimidating armor of the Total Recall police force are just the beginning. In the footage shown in Hall H, the cops trying to gain entry to the room in which Quaid is hiding fire a projectile filled with tiny sensors. It explodes inside the room and the sensors land on surfaces everywhere, then transmit a 3D model of the room to the cops/soldiers outside. It’s a pretty great visualization. More of that and less of the swooping CGI-assisted camera moves that make the action feel overly slick and composed, please.
