‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2’ Will Feature Bebop And Rocksteady

The list of things wrong with the recentTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesfilmis pretty long. Way down on the list is that the film’s villains really weren’t that interesting or formidable. Well it seemsnew directorDave Greenand screenwritersJosh ApplebaumandAndre Nemecare looking to at least solve that inthe June 2016 sequel. Producer Andrew Form recently confirmed thatTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2will feature popular villains Bebop and Rocksteady. Read Turtles 2Bebop and Rocksteady.

TheNinja Turtles 2Bebop and Rocksteady news broke onOmelete(viaCollider). There, Form confirmed that not only are Bebop and Rocksteady in the movie, they’re “trying to fit in” Casey Jones as well. Though, to be fair, wealready had an ideaabout that.

Besides the Turtles, Will Arnett’s character will be back along with Megan Fox’s April O’Neil. That’s on the good side. Shredder will once again return as the villain and the fact Bebop and Rocksteady will appear gives you a better idea of what to expect in the movie. If part one was an origin story, you’d think Part 2 is going to be more about the Turtles coming into their own and Shredder doing anything to stop them. Including, mutating his own soldiers, hence Bebop and Rocksteady.

The dimwitted warthog and rhino were considered for the first film – there waseven concept art– but ultimately cut, probably because it just didn’t fit in that first story. Them being in this movie does pique my interest a bit though. Especially if they cast the roles well. Each of these characters, who would presumably be created in mo-cap, would be wonderful, wacky exercises for some actor out there. Hopefully they get some really good people.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2opens on June 09, 2025.  The writers of the original, Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec, are back this time. They’re also producing along with the Platinum Dunes crew, who hiredEarth to Echodirector Dave Green to helm.
