New Rumor Of Vision’s Role In ‘Captain America: Civil War’ May Take Him To Other Marvel Movies

Some new rumored details suggest that whatever happens to the Vision inCaptain America: Civil Warcould open up some doors to his arrival in some other future Marvel Studios movies. But to understand how he gets there, we have to talk about some potentialCivil Warspoilers. So if that worries you, I’d recommend sitting out for the rest of this story. Hit the jump for a juicy new rumor about Vision inCaptain America Civil War.

This latest rumor comes fromThat Hashtag Show(viaMovieWeb), an untested source that has us taking this all with a grain of salt. They indicate thatCaptain America: Civil Warwill see the Vision (Paul Bettany) engage in a romantic relationship with Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). This isn’t too surprising. Not only does their romance have a basis in the comics, but Scarlet Witch was saved from dying in Sokovia thanks to a last minute rescue by the Vision.

However, it sounds like things may get complicated for the Vision inCivil Waroutside of romance. While concept art has shown him taking the side of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), his makeshift father, apparently before the movie is over, he switches to Captain America’s (Chris Evans) side. That will likely be crushing blow to Tony Stark’s side.

That raises the question as to why he switches sides. Could it have something to do with the fact that we don’t see Scarlet Witch in the promo artwork of the two superhero teams facing off? Is there a chance that she dies, prompting the Vision to come to some kind crossroads? That remains to be seen, but whatever happens inCivil War, the final detail of this rumor says that the Vision decides to leave Earth for space.

Keep in mind that this isn’t the first time we’ve heard a rumor about one of the Avengers leaving Earth. There was a rumor that Hulkwould be launched into spaceat the end ofThe Avengers: Age of Ultronand would lead intoPlanet HulkandWorld War Hulkmovies. And while that specifically isn’t happening, we do have confirmation thatMark Ruffalo will have a roleinThor: Ragnarok, one that the actor has said will make the sequela buddy movie for Thor and Hulk.

And all things considered, Vision popping up inThor: Ragnarokwould make perfect sense. You may remember that Thor had some kind of vision tied to Vision that convinced the God of Thunder to give life to the new being. If Hulk ends up being part of the threat inThor: Ragnaroksomehow, maybe the Vision will be one of the few heroes who can help stop him. He is powered by an Infinity Stone after all, and the people of Asgard have plenty of experience with those.

However, that very detail of his anatomy would also make him an interesting addition toGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The ragtag team of space misfits has already dealt with one Infinity Stone, so maybe they’ll encounter another by meeting the Vision. If not, there’s always the other developing cosmic franchise,Captain Marvel. Of course, that one just got pushed back, so we’d be waiting a while before seeing the Vision in that one.

As of now this rumor only indicates what may happen with Vision inCaptain America: Civil War. There’s no guarantee that he’ll pop up in any of these sequels, but then again, it wouldn’t be like Marvel to leave a perfectly good superhero on the bench. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens with these superheroes do battle inCaptain America: Civil War, openingMay 6th, 2016.
