New Posters: The Wolfman; Cop Out; Bong Joon-Ho’s Mother; Percy Jackson Character Posters; And Mysterious Danish Short ‘Connected’
There are a bunch of new posters this week, and easily the most striking of the bunch is the painted image forThe Wolfman, created by legendaryFamous Monsters of Filmlandcover artistBasil Gogos.CHUDgot the image as an exclusive; you can see part of it above, and click through for the full thing. It’s not my favorite Gogos by a stretch, but like his best paintings it isgrotesquely colorfulin a way that points a direct line to the cinematography in films likeSuspiria. The fact that Universal got him to work with their remake is a great thing.
After the break, the poster forKevin Smith’sCop Out, a new domestic poster forMother, character sheets forPercy JacksonandThe Crazies, and a great poster for a tiny, weird Danish post-apocalyptic Western calledConnected.

IGNdebuted the poster forCop Out, and it’s more or less what you’d expect: the background color scheme and logo from the trailer’s title card, plusBruce WillisandTracy Morgan. That tagline, though? (“Rock out with your glock out.") Eek.
Love the poster forMother, the 2009 festival sensation directed byBong Joon-hoofThe Hostfame. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this film, a suspenseful picture about a determined mother who attempts to clear her son’s name after he is accused of murder, and it’s way high on my ‘must-see’ list.Movielinehas the new poster, excerpted above.

Latino Reviewpoints us to three new character posters for Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. These look more like ads for a sequel to the PS3 game inFamous, but they’re decent images. Curious about this movie, which puts a modern spin on the same gods and monsters we’ll also see in Clash of the Titans. Click any of the three images for large sizes.
Finally, there’s this great poster for the Danish ‘sci-fi western’Connected, which popped up onOMGPostersyesterday. A design studio called Barq created the image, and you may actually buy a print, though only 73 were created. It’s expensive, at €39. Checkthe Connected storeif you’re interested. Here’s some more infoon both the poster and the film. You can see a short, very pretty teaser for the movie atTwitch.
