‘Avengers Infinity War Part 1 And 2’ Will Be Written By ‘Captain America’ Writers [Confirmed]

After the directors ofCaptain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War, theRusso Brothers, have already signed to direct the two partAvengersepic. Now the writers behind the entireCaptain Americatrilogy,Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, have signed to write them. Markus and McFeely also wroteThor: The Dark Worldso they’re pretty much as essential to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as anyone. Read more about theAvengers Infinity Warwriters below.

Though it’s sad Joss Whedon won’t be writing and directing the third and fourthAvengersfilms, members of this team know what they’re doing. On the page, Markus and McFeely get the tone of this universe. They know how it works, they know all the history and they have no problem going bigger with each and every movie. Team them up with the Russos, who’ll be coming off their second straight collaboration with the writers, and you’re looking at basically the next best thing to Whedon. And you’re able to bet Marvel will throw him a couple bucks to produce, punch up the script, or whatever else is needed. That, however, is unconfirmed. Just an educated guess.
Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2are the culmination of what’s shaping up to be an absolutely epic Phase Three in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to all the characters you already know, it’ll introduce Ant-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Inhumans and a little character named Spider-Man.
Infinity War Part 1 opens May 2018. Part 2 is the next year, May 2019.
